Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), the only state university of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), started its education life in 1979 and all its programs have been approved by the Turkish Higher Education Council. Eastern Mediterranean University provides education in a multicultural environment with 20,000 students from 106 different countries and over 1,100 lecturers from 35 different countries.
EMU is a unique campus university with educational buildings and laboratories spread over 3000 decares of land, indoor and outdoor sports halls and cultural activities.
EMU offers a total of 95 associate and undergraduate programs, 77 graduate and doctorate programs in 11 Faculties and 5 Schools.
It Is Among The Best Universities In The World
According to the 2014 Webometrics World Rankings, EMU was ranked among the top 5% universities in the world and ranked 440 among the Universities in the European Union Countries in the ranking made among nearly 25,000 universities in the world. In addition, in line with the 2014 evaluation results announced by URAP, EMU is among the top 2000 universities in the world.
Education at International Standards
EMU is a full member of the International Universities Association, the European Universities Association, the Mediterranean Universities Association and the Federation of Islamic Countries Universities. EMU attaches great importance to international accreditations and has prestigious accreditations from international scientific institutions. All departments of our University's Faculty of Engineering have accreditation from ABET, which oversees Technology and Engineering Programs in the USA. This accreditation is the most prestigious accreditation in the field of engineering in the world and only five universities in Turkey, including EMU, have this accreditation.
In addition, the Architecture Department of the Faculty of Architecture has MIAK, the Faculty of Business and Economics, the Faculty of Tourism and the School of Computer and Technology have FIBAA accreditation. Faculty of Education Department of English Language Education has AQAS accreditation. In addition to these, the School of Tourism and Hospitality TEDQUAL and the Computer Technology and Information Systems Program of the School of Computer and Technology have ASIIN accreditation. Foreign Languages ??and English Preparatory School has EDEXCEL accreditation. In addition, the Faculty of Business and Economics is a member of AACSB, of which only three universities in Turkey are members.

EMU students benefit from a wide range of sports opportunities. EMU students use the stadium with a capacity of 5,000 people with a tartan-floored athletics track, cardio center, spinning hall, TRX hall and 66,500 m2 outdoor sports area, as well as the 3,500-seat LMP Sports Palace, where all kinds of indoor sports events can be held. More than 50 student clubs with private offices in their Social and Cultural Activity Center and International Student Unions operating under the International Center are the organizers of many social and cultural activities that make life on campus colorful, qualified and rich.
Special Purpose Centers Serving Students
EMU has more than 30 special-purpose Research Centers, as well as a fully equipped Health Center with a private ambulance, where 9 specialist doctors work. Some of these are units that directly serve students. Psychological Counseling Guidance and Research Center and Alumni Communication and Career Research Center are centers that were established to meet the needs of EMU students and can be used by any student who wishes.

Student Exchange Programs
The university has cooperation agreements with more than 200 universities around the world. There are student exchange programs with reputable Higher Education institutions in all countries of the world in order to enable their students to study in different environments in the globalizing world. Within the framework of the Student Exchange Program, students can obtain the right to study for one semester/one academic year at the universities with which the University has a contract. For example, students can take the credits they have earned there to their education at EMU by having the chance to study at universities such as Central Connecticut State University, Long Beach State University, San Diego State University and Louisiana State University as part of the exchange program in the United States.
International Joint Programs (Dual Degrees)
